    water bypass tube help

Discovered a leak today on the side of my water bypass tube (nipple). The one in my car is the original so I guess after over 50 years things happen. Anyway has anyone ever changed one in the car? Who sells a replacement? See pic below. Any and all help appreciated. Mac

    FYI - new harnesses

Looking through the 2024 Feb issues of Hemmings, I came across something that may be of interest if you are doing a total restoration for a 71-73 stang. On page 64 there is a description for "New Products" by American Autowire (americanautowire.com) a Mustang Update Kit. Complete harness with...

Was Santa good to your Mustang this year?

Just curious, do you have any gas stations with ethanol free pumps? Here by me, there are two stations that have just one pump (out of eight) with ethanol free gas. Granted it is about a $1.00 more per gallon that regular gas, but they seem to do a brisk business with the local classic car crowd.

Was Santa good to your Mustang this year?

No complaints here, Santa was kind to my Mach. A brand new set of KYB shocks were under the tree for it. :)

    Squeaking Spare

Suggest maybe applying a coat of wax to floor/wheel well where tire rubs against. Also light coat of oil on tire itself. Myself, my spare does not squeak.

Help with braking issue. PLEASE. I am stumped at this point.

There is a master cylinder for cars with disc brakes and a different on for cars with drum brakes. Happened to me years ago. The parts store gave me one for drum brakes where as I have disc. Both look the same on the outside. Difference is internal where the disc brake one has a check poppet...

    Why?

My interest in Mustangs including 71-73's goes way back. In the late 60's I had a '66 K-code coupe with a bench seat that had a fold down arm rest that I had purchased used from Conway Ford in Austintown Ohio for $900. Beat the tar out of it and gave it to my Dad when I left for active duty...

    Why?

Always interested in owner's stories about their cars. Most recently at the show in Indy the topic of why you bought your Mustang came up at dinner. Wow, the answers were all over the place. So with with a little more focus, "Why did you buy your 71 - 73 Mustang"? Style, performance, cost...

Feedback on Boss i'm interested in

One alternate source of info to consider is the Mustang Club of America (MCA) web site. On this site you can look at the actual judging sheets for the '71 Boss 351 to see all the critical things to be aware of as well as contact info on the Boss certified judges.

    Power Brake Booster Paint

Having tried a variety of rust proof and gasoline resistant paints on my car's power brake booster with little luck. I think one issue is the master cylinder sits at a slight angle so it is possible for the brake fluid to leak out the back onto the brake booster and back of the master cylinder...

    Ford Carlisle

Ford Carlisle is finished for this year. It was HOT but only a little rain during car cruise to downtown. Not as many vendors. Did manage to find a few good items; face plate for am/8 track player for $40, new NOS still in Ford package master cylinder seals (2) for $5 and a NOS instrument...

Hello, from NYC. 73 Mach 1

Welcome from N.E. Ohio. As far as carb issues, also consider looking at your timing and over time the rubber in your harmonic balancer breaks down so timing marks are not always accurate. One other item to look at is your fuel filter may have build up in it.
