No idea what an "N" code is ,but I want it!

I just restored and sold an N Code Blue 1970 Ranchero Squire. The N Code is the 429-4v Wedge motor commonly found in Thunderbirds for the same years. Not as strong as its super brother, 429 Cobra Jet, but still very rare and desirable for these cars.

The 1970 429 "N" code is a high compression (11.0:1) version of the 429. The main difference between it and the 429CJ/SCJ is in the heads as it has somewhat (relatively speaking) smaller ports and valves. The blocks are essentially the same except that the 1970 and 1971 SCJ has four bolt mains. The 1970 CJ block has the same two bolt mains as found in the "N" code while the 1971 CJ has four bolt mains.

While the N coded motors are readily available (right now) as they were installed in a lot of Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles, they make for some STRONG performers. I have a "reworked" 1970 N-coded Galaxy 500 motor and associated C6 transmission in my 472 (bored and stroked) 1973 Grande.

the old rancheros are classic, but that looks too much like an el camino to me

Aww the old tire burner..I sure would like to have it...If it was closer...I would try and make a deal..Not a bad price for a rare car...Of course i would have to realy check it over in person before i paid..lol

All business up front and a party in the back.
