- 1972 Mustang Convertible - Bright Lime White Top
New to this - first try/question.
I recently got a 1972 Mustang Convertible and started working on it.
Not engine/trans guy but I can fix/repair many things on it.
I drove it home and a few other trips and started to look at what she needed. The steering column two collars seem loose. What appears to be a bought junk yard 71 steering column was in the trunk. Had no issue on first few drives but as I said the collars suddenly came loose. The key switch appears to be new and there was also an old key switch in the parts. I am hoping maybe previous owner replaced it and failed to tighten the collars. Uncertain with a extra steering wheel with the parts and seller gave no information on that. Main question before I pull out turn signal mechanism is are there T bolts on this steering column securing the collars. It is a locking steering wheel, does not have tilt, and is an automatic. If suspicion is the column is bad I may have to have someone do that for me.
