1973 Coupe
Hello all
I am looking to replace (or repair) badly deteriorated rear ABS quarter trim panels. It seems that Scott Drake only make replacements for fastbacks and convertibles -- nothing for coupes.
I suspect that the fastback panels (D1ZZ-6331486/7P) might fit, but mine have a recess and cutout slot for the seatbelt to pass through. My local parts dealer doesn't have stock of D1ZZ-6331486/7P and I don't feel like driving 900 kilometers to Sydney (Australia) to compare what I have with a fastback item.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, Paul

The sportsroof quarter trims are completely different than the coupe. You also need to make sure you get a set with the cutout for the seat belts, as the lower area is shaped differently than the earlier parts.

That was my fear. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll see what I can do about repairing the ones I have.

Very difficult to find them. Panels for fastback and convertibles are readily available but not coupes for some reason. I did see some for sale on eBay recently but they didn’t look all that great either. I ended up painting the ones I had. Good luck.

According to my National Parts Depot catalog, they have Quarter Trim Panelreplacements for '71-'73 convertibles and sportsroofs. The part number for the pair, which come in black, is 31488-7-7a. obviously you will need to paint them to your interior color if you don't have a black interior. Use the SEM paint for the ABS plastic. You will also need the "fuzzy strip" that faces the quarter window glass, and the round vinyl windlace than goes down the front edge facing the door opening.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll need to sure them up the ones I have and get some integrity back into them, then get an upholstery trimmer to make some vinyl overlays.
Cheers

Ironically, I realized for the first time today that my console and rear panels have been outfitted with vinyl themselves. Best I can tell still the original avocado underneath.

Thanks Spaceman, I think that's exactly what i need. I'll take that first picture to a couple of auto trimmers and see what they say.
