1973 Q Code vert
Buddy Bar is the name of the company that cast them. Yes, they'll bolt up to any Cleveland engine. However, they have the larger 4V runners that don't match up to the smaller passages in the 2V heads. The spreadbore design is unique to the 4300D Autolite/Motorcraft carburetor, which are very scarce, and other spreadbore carburetors won't work with them.

That intake is valuable to someone looking for something that specific.

For most of us who are looking to do upgrades and are less concerned about 'originality' a good edelbrock dual plane and standard bore carb is the way to go if you are looking for an increase in performance (without using up the entire car budge). :)

i have a q code 72 so its a 4v...this would fit? it must match a 4300d??

Yes, it will fit your Q code. You have to use either a 4300D carburetor or an adapter to use a squarebore Holley or Edelbrock. As Mike said, these are unique manifolds and desirable mostly for concours restorations. If you want something that is more period correct you might want to look at Blue Thunder manifolds. Those are what Shelby put his name on and have about the same performance as newer Edelbrocks.

That would be a direct replacement for your Q-code intake, but as noted, they get real pricey. Intakes to fit the 4300D carb are few and far between, as it had an oddball style of spreadbore pattern coupled with a square bore bolt pattern. There was also an over the counter Muscleparts program intake that had the square bore carb pattern. It was D1ZX-DA, and sells for around $500 typically. It's slightly taller than the stock iron 4V intake and is a very good option if you want OE Ford parts. I'm not sure if they ever released a version that fits the 4300D carb.

I have one with the OEM vacuum tree and carb adapter if you're interested. FYI its also made of aluminum.
