351 RAM AIR on hood: stencil or decal?

Hi,

my '71 Mach 1 is currently at the painter for the final touches. Beside some minor paint repairs, the car will receive the blacked out paint schema on the hood.

I have seen severeal pictures that show "351 RAM AIR" on the blacked out hood. Is this a stencil used during painting of the black or is it a decal?

Most are decals some ARE painted. Your choice on what to do. Factory is a decal.

You could probably use the decal AS a stencil. At least that's what I'm thinking of doing so the letters are body color.

You can buy the decals on Ebay from many vendors. You don;t need NOS ones - just get either black or silver repros for about $15. Buy an extra set - they may start to peel after several years.
