Since I moved up to Oregon a year ago I've been working as a satellite tech while I've been unsuccessfully trying to get my electrician license here. One of the benefits is the fact that I drive all over the state and see where all the old cars are. On Tuesday I ran across a 1950's truck. After talking with the guy I was fixing the service for I asked him about it. The one who owns it was his cousin who lived in the house across the driveway from the dude I was talking to. He said he'd talk to his cousin and later he called to say they'd take 300 for it.
Now the truck is pretty rough. It's not rusty from what I saw but to say it had paint would be lying. It has an inline six which needs a rebuild, the main bearings were bad at the time it was parked 20 years ago. The worst of though, is that a tree fell on it some time ago and I'm probably going to cut it out, it's not as bad as it sounds. When the tree fell it hit the top corner of the cab then rolled down onto the bed, saving the life of the guy I was talking to amazingly. The truck didn't actually look damaged from where I was standing but I wasn't planning on buying it when I was there.
Just wanted to know what you guys think. Ill have pictures after I go back with the wife.
