Hi gang:

I am in need of a center grille support bracket for my late '72 Mach 1. My original was misplaced long ago during a freshening of the car and is long gone. It likely was lost in the mid 80's when I had a friend assist in straightening up the shop. I had just not looked for a replacement until recently. Surface rust is no big issue, I just need the one bracket. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 🙏
Is this the part your looking for?

It’s up to you if you want to try it, i’m sure someone else can use it if you want to pass. Looks like it would work but not for concourse build.
I'm not doing a concourse build. This is for my '72 H code Mach 1 that I'm putting a 550+ inch engine in. I just want to support the grille in the center.

Is that a spacer from the bracket to the grill on the 71?
No, that's the molded grille itself. The outer positions are for the 71 dual support. The 72 single support is slightly off center of the grille.

The issue with the 71 bracket posted above is it will only work properly on the two outer positions, as the molded in grille standoffs are on the same plane. The 72 center support is stepped, or on two planes.

I'm not trying to convince anyone to do anything - make your own decisions.

I'm sorry. It just looked like a metal part between the grill and bracket. Must have been the light.

Wish someone had dimensions on this part for a 72, then I could just use someone like https://sendcutsend.com/services/cnc-bending/ to make me one.
I posted some dimensions on page 1 of this thread. That is a template of the part I took of the car for a two piece fabrication, someone smarter than me might be able to figure out a one piece fabrication.

I'm working on an AutoCAD drawing for the part we're all looking for. I had hoped to get it done by now, but my uncle passed away last Saturday and I've been busy with family issues. I've been talking with Fabrice as he's been doing some amazing work on the '71 429CJ he's been restoring. He said he could likely make up a die to fab up some brackets. I'm curious, does it need to be concourse correct? I can draw it up for that or should I use the clip style nuts like the '71 twin brackets used? The clip bracket version would be much simpler to fabricate and the clip nuts are easy to get. The concourse nuts would need to be machined.

Sincere condolences regarding your uncle.

I can take mine off my car and take pictures with measurements if you want

Thank you, '72MustangSprint, but I took the one off my '72 convertible. I'm working on the drawing and have the plan view completed, I'm just starting the rear view now. I'll do the front view and a side view with a couple of section views. I need one for my '72 Mach 1.
