My 72 Qcode air cleaner body has a vacuum operated inlet on the left side of the housing and the diaphragm is old and leaks and is causing a vacuum leak. Temporarily I have plugged the manifold but would love to find a replacement part for this. If anybody has one or knows of one available please drop me a line. Thanks. 3273_25_02_15_11_25_40.jpg

Frank, if you need the vacuum motor on the left side of the air cleaner housing, you need C8OZ-9D612-C. This part is discontinued and there doesn't seem to be any reproductions out there. Sorta surprised as this part saw use starting with 68 428 CJ cars and was used on several performance and police cars in the 70's. At this point not a lot of options. You could try http://www.perogie.com/ I've used them before when obtaining some Shaker parts for a friend's 429 Torino Cobra. I was told they offered a rebuild service as a lot of original air cleaners were pitched over the years resulting in a lot of hard to find parts. So would probably be a good ideal just to call them and plead your case. They are proud of their parts so make sure your sitting down when talking prices.

Another place to try is http://www.henryspartsdepot.com/ I don't know how current or expensive his inventory is. I've never used them before. They do show one C8OZ-9D612-C, so probably be a good ideal to call and see how proud they are of it!

Good luck!!

yeah I've done business with Perogie Enterprises in the past and they are VERY proud of they're parts Very proud indeed. LOL that's a good way of putting it. Thanks for the info and part number, and a great pic of a NOS piece.

Oops, sorry I gave you the part info. secluff knows what he's talking about.
jpaz, as my wife tells me, sometimes I get something right! Lol The catalog is not very clear on the applications of which motor is used on the air cleaners on different models. I can assure you there were plenty of them ordered wrong on any given day at the dealerships. Since we ordered and serviced a large amount of police cars I was familiar with this part as it was used on the 428/429 Police Interceptors.

Frank, if Jeff's vacuum motor checks out good I would sure make a deal with him. Perogie has some nice and rare (expensive) parts, and the prices reflect it. I would just keep them in mind in case you need another one or to see if they can rebuild one. Good luck again!
