Thanks for thinking of me ::beer::

That is a high end build but they deviated quite a bit. The flairs a likely nicer than on the real car. I know of one other steel flair tribute and he too made the flairs smaller and the spoiler "square" but both are nice cars. I talked to the builder of the other trinbute. It was for sale asking $25K. That was more than I wanted to spend since I already had my starting point vehicle. I think it sold on ebay for 16.5K. If I'd known what it would sell for and as a solid California car it would have been temping even figuring the re-do efforts.

The spoiler on the real car looks like a stock one but molded in and cut into three pieces. Producing that in metal is going to be a lot of work. Since neither of the other tributes did the Frenched tail lights I think that's going to be a must on mine.

I need to get the LS3/Vette going so i can jump on this project. I promised some friends it would be running and flaired by mid-October.

Yeh I think because they are high end builds then it wouldn't do to leave things look quite like the original ABAR car as it was one of those cars where the ruff edges made it resonate with all of us that have drove work in progress hotrods

BLUE BLOODS PLEASE LOOK AWAY!

The movie car is a lot nicer than one would expect. The panel fit is very good. The car has a full cage and that helps when you are trying for tight gaps. I've been told by a couple of people who know the owner that he would likely be happy to let me get up close to it for some details before I commit on mine but a trip to San Fransico is not in the cards this year. The "aw shoot" of it is we lived about 90 minutes from him for ten years.

They race a Mustang in this clip and check out the fuel cars too

Sweet. I love the style of this car has a Trans Am/Drag/Street custom vibe all going on

The Mustang was owned and driven by Joel Larson of the Grass Roots. A real '65 Shelby with lots of period (value wrecking) mods.

The Terminator has large files on humans, I have a big file on ABAR:s

I like the mods but I still think like a 14 year old. If my Father-in-law really gives me his VW the garage could end up looking like a back stage lot for the movie. I didn't plan it but cars I have wanted to own align with others in the movie. I have the start of a GT350R tribute, a '54 Ford pickup (close enough to Moxey's '56 I guess) and then Rose's bug.
