" 1972 Mustang Mach 1 Fastback - Untouched!"

http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/cto/4273685271.html

"All original un-molested/untouched Ford Mustang Mach 1. All Stock!"

Untouched? Un-molested? All stock? Let's count up the fibs:

  • Recovered seats - with cloth centers
  • Standard interior with deluxe dash center
  • Looks like an Fox-era AOD or aftermarket shifter T-handle
  • Honeycomb brightwork is missing (I'll grant him this one - it's supposed to be "all-original" - and it can be such and missing).
  • H-code w/no valance cutouts but dual exhaust
  • Best for last: Chrome front bumper and grille surround. As if I didn't need the undersized argent nose mask to prove that it's been repainted...

Sure, it's a nice car. But it's not untouched.

I left a message asking for more info about the car; specifically "...is it standard or deluxe interior..." and "...I also wanted to ask about the chrome front bumper and surround." Unsurprisingly, he has not returned my call.
