My Car
1973 H Code Convertible
I have a spoiler on my 73 convertible that I think looks good, but I've never seen one on another Mustang before. Anyone have any clues as to where it came from or if it's from another car? Any of you ever seen one of these before?

I was thinking Camaro or Fiero or one of them Generic Motors "...O" cars. They seem to have a lot of them. LOL

Pontiac Fiero ?

The 1 underside shot of the pedestal looks like a Ford part number.

it's something then 02402xx-M2

Possibly a generic Motorsport spoiler??

When I was in the aftermarket accessory business (1990-1998), there were a bunch of companies doing generic spoilers. Companies had published dimensions of the pedestals, overall height, width and suggested vehicle applications.

This one appears to be one of them.

Looks nice on your car.

Generic yes (Generic Motors!!!).

RacerX, you reminded me of what to look for to properly identify this spoiler!

I was almost right - one of those GM "O" cars - how about a 1969 GTO!

Yep the GTO Judge ran that spoiler. Kinda cool!

I verified the part number under the pedestal as a 69 GTO Jedge part.

Thanks guys, interesting. Doesn't seem to be a difinitive answer (GTO spoiler) but rather still a question. The only other reference I've been able to find on that part number is: http://forums.moparmusclemagazine.com/70/831421/general-mopar-discussion/go-wing/

It's definitely not a Fiero spoiler, I've had 4 Fieros:)

Also, definitely not the same as what's on this 69 GTO (the ends have more curve to them on the GTO):

Nor this:

Still a mystery:)

It sure looks like that spoiler. However I'm not sure it's native to that car either. Can't find a single other image on the net of that spoiler on a cougar. Lot's of the "Mustang" style ones, but not that one.

From what I've been able to determine, it is off a 1969 GTO Judge convertible. The conv one is different than the one you showed in the pic (hardtop version). Yes, they had two different ones. I do not know why? The part number on the bottom of the pedestal correspond to the part number for that spoiler for the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge convertible.

Not sure what more info can be provided? I am very confident in my finding. (OK I edited this to come back and make another point>>)

The pedestals might be off the GTO Judge but the spoiler might be off something else? Not so confident now... LOL

The mystery does continue!

Thanks Ray. The pedestals don't seem to be removable in any what that I can see, so it doesn't "feel" like they are from something else. Everything lines up too well for them to be from some other spoiler.

Where do you get the info on the part number, in a book somewhere? This site has a lot of GTO convertible pics but I don't see any with that spoiler, only with the "hardtop" one:

From my previous post in this same thread:

This guy had one he was trying to sell and wanted to know how to tell if it was a GTO Judge convertible spoiler. The guy on the post who owns one gave him the part number/casting number and where to find that number. All the info seems to line up for yours. You'll see... Then you can make your own determination based on this info.

It looks to me like an early to mid '80s firebird Trans Am peice. An original Judge part would be prohibitively expensive to bolt onto something else.

Just my 2 cents worth.
