I'm looking for a set of the Boss 351 valve covers and noticed the similar Ford Racing finned aluminium valve covers.

M-6582-A342R

Are they identical (other than the Ford Racing logo?)

They certainly look similar when in the cast finish.

Were they a later copy/repro of sorts?

Gardoco,

They are some what similar. The Ford Motorsport do not have riveted spark plug harness loom bracket plus the extra material around the bolt holes.

Ansen USA is an OEM supplier to Ford. I bought these from them. Very nice folks. They installed the wire loom riveted tab for me for a small fee. Says polished but it is a light, not super polished. just enough to smooth over the raw casting marks. http://ansenusa.com/product/ford-351c-no-name-polished/ my set has the correct opening for the oil cap w/pcv on the drivers side. like i said, i rang them up and they were happy to make any style i wanted.

How much were they?

Bud, i think it was more than 3yrs ago. So yer askin a lot, heh heh but give them a call. $120 bucks? Maybe? $150 today? I dunno, but they were so nice i was happy to pay an extra $50 if they asked for it because they are an original Ford supplier and they made up whatever i asked. And i think i got them in like 10 days. I think they made the original 73 alum slots. Good sht.
