bug spray on plastic lens covers

i was talking to a friend of mine a time back and he told me that if you used off bug repelent on your dull plastic head light lens it would clean them up .i just tried it and to my suprise it worked very well with very little effert.now how long it will last i don't know just wanted to pass it on . i hope it works for you .now i wounder if it will work on turn indecter lens for our cars

I've heard this somewhere else recently but haven't tried it. I question/wonder about how long it will last and if it will have any effect on keeping love bugs from hitting the headlights.
