bypass Heater control valve?

Help! Finally got my Rebuilt Power steering pump yesterday and installed it today.

Went to start the car and found antifreeze leaking out of the Heater Control Valve.

The plastic side was cracked.

Can I pull this thing out and just put in a Bypass (straight through connector) temporarily until I get a new one?

Yes, but this time of the year heater core will be hot, adding heat to the inside. You can also loop it at the water pump.
