On the 429 the original 4300 had a heat choke; my new Holley has an electric choke. The original choke tube was routed down through the intake manifold several inches, then routed back up through the intake manifold and into the choke. Since my new carb has an electric choke I can eliminate the heat tube. Now, here's the rub: does anyone make a "cap" for where the heat tube goes through the intake? Or, do I have to reuse the old one and just cut and cap each side of the heat tube?

From expirence with other ford heat tubes, not yours specifically, you should be able to just leave it. In fact, if you find where it attaches it should just pull out, unless its rusted in. It doesn't actually tie in to anything important it's just touching the manifold so the air in the tube will warm up and activate the bi-metal spring on the choke.

The one on my stock '71 351C 4V square bore intake looks like this.

The red wire feeds the Holley's electric choke.

The two holes you see are just the two ends of a single length of tubing, it is just a loop of tubing. Nothing can enter the intake unless the tube has a hole in it from rust or other damage. If you want to remove it, just make a plate out of thick aluminum stock. Chuck

LOL, yeah Jeff I'm not gonna do that! I'm going to cut them on the outside and fab up a plate later. Or maybe just fab up a plate and sell the choke heater tube assembly to someone that has a 429 w/ a Motorcraft 4300 carb.

Wow, so it's not even capped. Interesting, maybe I'll just cut the tubes flush so no debris can get in the engine. Thanks!

BTW, my daughter said it kinda looks like a pig's face!
That's the unofficial name for it... Pig's face or pig nose port. :p
