Interesting grilling tidbit:

In the early 1920s, Ford had a large plant in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan; to be exact, Kingsford, a town named after Henry Ford's cousin. Henry Ford was always looking for new ways to combine resources. One day as the Model T cars were coming off the assembly line, Ford noticed many wood scraps being discarded. He proposed that all wood scraps were to be sent to his chemical building to be made into charcoal.

Henry Ford used wood scraps from the production of Model T's to make charcoal. Originally named Ford Charcoal, the name was changed to Kingsford Charcoal after Ford's brother-in-law E. G. Kingsford brokered the selection of the new charcoal plant site.

brother-in-law or cousin??? funny hope not both!!!!! Yikes! :)

My neighbor would LOVE this topic. He grills small meals everyday aka he's single and cant get a date. He takes a bottle of charcoal starter and SOAKS the briskets ...I mean SOAKS them. when he is cooking you can smell the lighter fluid 5 houses away. About 7 years ago I suggested he try one of these:

At that point we had been using one for about 2 years. Since he's an engineer and you cant have any ideas better than his. In fact 99% of the time regardless of the topic I agree with him just to get along. He responded "oh I've heard of those...they dont work". me: "uhhhh we've been using ours for 2 years works great" him: "well it must be a fluke I've tried them and they dont work"   Well we are into our 7th year with the same one!!! :D I swear I think he's using the fluid just so he doesnt have to use my idea. :D :D :D

This is a really cool little tidbit of info !!!

Where did you get that stove? Perfect way to charcoal rare a nice

filet. Most grills don't get hot enough.

Tell your engineer neghbor to suck it. Those are light years better than lighter fluid. the coals get hotter faster. no wonder he's single.

ehhhh yeah he has a hard time admitting I can weld better than him too :D

He has issues with white collar guys doing stuff better.

So these webbers are sold by Lowes'. Good point Corey...they take maybe 5 minutes and you are ready to grill. the coals are also extremely even burning, best for salmon and steak for even coverage.
