CJ Pony Parts is the latest sponsor for Project Last Ride, the 2011 Mustang 5.0 that’s being built in memory of Joe Gosinski of Chicane Sport Tuning. Joe was found murdered on December 23, 2010 in his shop and, in his memory, a former customer and an ex-employee joined together to create this custom Mustang to bring exposure to the tragedy, possibly find the killer, and keep Joe’s memory alive.

The goal with the car, beyond memorializing Joe, is to build the car in the Chicane way–simply perfect, with great attention to detail. This car is not only a show car, but also one that you can take to the track and race. It currently features a Vortech Supercharger, Doug Thorley Headers full exhaust and long tube Tri-Y headers, custom yellow Baer 6 inch piston calipers and 14 inch rotors, custom Vossen wheels, and a Trufiber custom hood, front lower air dam, splitter, rear trunk lid, side rockers, wing and rear diffuser, with more parts on the way. Once completed, the Project Last Ride Mustang is expected to make more than 600 horsepower.

CJ’s recently donated some parts to help finish the project. These parts include a Ford BOSS 302 Intake Manifold Install Kit, a Ford Racing BOSS 302R Intake Manifold, and an unpainted California Special Rear Spoiler. These parts will be arriving soon, then the car will be hitting the paint shop for a custom paint job to wrap up the project.

The car will be finished by the SEMA show that runs from November 1-4, and the car will continue to tour at numerous shows throughout 2012. If you’ll be at SEMA, stop by and visit them at the Doug Thorley Headers booth, #24435. Follow along on the car’s Facebook page to see the other shows where you can see the Project Last Ride 2011 Mustang 5.0.
