Qcode351mach that is very intresting. I have similar plans and went to garage and took a picture. I was looking for '68 shelby vents too but instead got a european rally car vents. Now when looking your '68 Shelby vents it makes me to rethink the situation. IMO yours looks better. I also like the fact that the Shelby vents are in the same level as is the hood's skin.

I am going to install the vents about 24" from the front edge of the hood. My initial plan is to give easy exit for the heat coming from the radiator. Mounting the vents to the rear looks better IMO but in my purpose the hot air would need to go around the shock towers to be able to exit from under the hood.

Vents are not installed yet in anyway, they are just laying on the hood.

Fin..I would rethink the oval shape of those vents..Your kinda limited on location because of the cowl induction type rise on that hood.. But Im thinking long & slim on the sides & then I'd take 1 of the long & slim cut in half & install in the sides of the rise of the cowl induction towards the rear..Heres the vents I'd use on your hood

Jfyi..I also did alot of detail work in METAL on the underside to close off the open frame structure to create a factory look..where I cut the openings

nice work Q. Whats the brand and model on the vents you're suggesting? I was thinking of the side too but wasn't able to find narrow enough to use, by modifying the went would help though. Thanks.

Ok, that's the GT '13-'14 hood vents, very close what I was originally looking for - thanks. Man, I got to get those. Anybody wanting Ford Escort Coshworth RS air vents???

Nice job on the reinforcement brackets under the hood, I have them open under the hood scoop and everytime I pop the hood I am thinking of closing the open structures... maybe when the Dominator hood is installed. I originally bought the Dominator hood to be heavily cut for a blower & snout, I want to keep the original RAM-AIR hood as it is - only with one big 16" diameter hole in the middle... I still got the shawed off round piece if I ever want to weld it back.
