Some environmental groups are claiming the damages to the land and the energy used to produce ethanol out weights any positive effect on the environment ethanol has. Which is something informed people knew all along.

Here's a little blurb, who would have ever guessed our government might mislead us on something that was supposed to be "good" for us.

The ethanol era has proven far more damaging to the environment than politicians promised and much worse than the government admits today.

As farmers rushed to find new places to plant corn, they wiped out millions of acres of conservation land, destroyed habitat and polluted water supplies, an Associated Press investigation found.

best is when they switch to ethanol 1n my state.

1) it ate my fuel lines, they seriously turned to jelly and started to weep fuel through the surface.

2) it ate my accelerator pump diaphragm, i got a nice lake of fuel on my intake manifold.

3) engine PING like crazy.

4) MPG dropped in half

woopppy dooo. i know people going insane when the EPA said they wanted 15% of that garbage in the fuel.

10% screwed up everything they even warn you 10% ethanol is only good for engines designed after 2004, my 1995 mitsubishi suddenly the fuel pump stopped working the week they switched to 10%..... just awesome. i had to have a SPECIAL pump made for me.

Went out and started my car after it been sitting for a couple of hours so

the engine was "cooling". Did not engage the electric choke, just turned the key.

Fired right up to about 750 RPM and idled as smooth as a stock Cleveland w/cam

can idle when "cold". Put my hand over the tailpipe and all I could feel was cold damp

exhaust that smelled strongly of.............Alcohol! The only component not being burned.
