My Car
1973 Hardtop Mustang, working on a restoration.
I did a search for removal of exterior trim, and I didn't find much. Today I started removing the paint from my car and began to primer it. I got hungup on how to remove the exterior trim that runs from the fender to the rear quarter panel. Any suggestions? Is it something simple that I should feel stupid about? Thanks for the help in advance.

Hard to tell from the pics but those look after-market.

Originals were aluminum and had a small rubber strip in the center.

They were installed with some stud / nuts through the panels and some studs with plastic snap on clips in some areas

Usually the studs and nuts were at the ends - snap clips in the centers

+1 to Don, they are after market. Had them on a 69 Chevelle. Pull the rubber starting on the end, it peels back like a banana. The metal sections were pop riveted to the body.
