So I bought a rear seal for my 1972 Mach's FMX tranny off of Ebay. It doesn't fit my FMX. My rear seal is about 2 1/2" across, and the driveshaft yoke diameter seems to be about 1 11/16". The seal I got off Ebay is smaller. It's about 2 3/8" across and has an inner hole of about 1 1/2". I tried to google "ford fmx rear seal specs", "driveshaft yoke diameter" and a bunch of other things, but got nowhere.

Does anybody know if there were different tailhousing rear seals for an FMX?

I own a C4 and couple of C6's but this is my first FMX.

If you have the old seal still available and not destroyed from removing it, there is a part number on it that you can cross reference for a replacement..

Thanks everyone. The ebay seller claims my order must have gotten mixed up with another order. He said he'd send out the correct seal to me. Paul, you're info confirmed my seal size. Mach 1000, I ran into your post last night doing a google search. Great info guys! Thanks again
