Wondering what is every one is using to clean up your front suspension.

I am thinking about using the Eastwood spray grey for the steering box spindles, tie rod etc.

Can you break the ball joints apart to replace the dust caps without ruining the ball joint?

What is every one using on the front coils that will actually stay on the springs?

If you are dis-assembling everything consider bead blasting or media blasting the parts. If the part is supposed to be natural or unpainted you can use VHT satin clear very high temperature paint to prevent corrosion while maintaining a natural appearance.

M,

I have been using cast blast, http://www.seymourpaint.com/cast_blast.htmlsem rust shield(no hardener) http://semproducts.com/product-catalog/rust-and-corrosion/rust-shield/ & krylon flat black http://www.amazon.com/Krylon-Black-Spray-Decorator-Aerosol/dp/B0029PML10with awesome results. as Chuck said the parts should be bead blasted or they can be wire wheeled..Or you can try my vinegar bath technique:) On some parts I prime with Sherwin Williams self etching primer..Then 320 dry before painting.

You can see a bunch of parts I did here at 4:50 in the video (the intake manifold was done with alumablast (same co as the cast blast)
