- 73 loaded Q code car w/a 351 4v C6 it came with 2 cars in parts.
Picture #1 Ford tool. Picture #2 I removed 2lbs of crap from this pocket on each side. A good use for etching primer. #3 only one side. #4 for some reason they packed under coating 1/2" thick in that pocket. #5 I sand blasted the original control arms and installed the shafts. I wouldn't do these without heat, the large nuts on the original shafts build up rust and want to pull the threads in the original arms. I ended up tack welding one side to make sure. These new front springs are 1" drop, however, are .720 in diameter vs the original .650. 3/4" Crows foot is the tool for breaking loose the control arm bolts. I used nuts on the spring tool for spacers to avoid cutting it. (saved for bigger springs) Anyway, it rides nicely and corners like a smaller sportier car. As low as it sits, it's very rigid and doesn't bottom out. When I 1st put the 5 leafs on the rear it sat up 1" w/a std spring eye. After lowering the front the rear sat back down to stock ride ht, maybe a 1/2" higher.
