Heys guys,
My first engine rebuild, everythings together, wired up, I crank her over and Im getting no fuel to carb. I throw a gauge on the inlet side of pump and I'm getting almost no vacuum. Switch it over to outlet side, little more of a reading on gauge but not enough to make anything happen.
So I figured the pump is bad. I pull pump off car, set it in the vice, lay the inlet hose in a gas can and the outlet hose free on the table, pump a couple times and boom - gas baby! So pumps doing it's job, it's almost as if it's not riding on the eccentric correctly, like it's not getting enough lift... because I get an itty-bitty amount of vacuum when cranking but it's negligible. I can't imagine I installed the eccentric wrong as theres a little tab on it that lines up into gear, so I don't think you can mess that up. I'd really rather not take apart front of engine to check.
Any ideas as to what could be causing such a crappy vacuum for my fuel pump? Is there a special way to align pump into mounting place? Could it possibly be that eccentric somehow?
Any info appreciated, thanks guys.
I'll include a couple photos of the set-up I had right before I put the timing cover and etc on.
