Fuel Vent - What to do?

I have a coupe that has the canister on the back of the shock tower and a mach that has it down on the inner fender panel and the one on the coupe is taller than the mach.

Usually the 71-72 had the shorter style canister mounted down low on the right rear inner fender apron. The 73's tended to have the taller canister mounted higher on the right rear shock tower. I'm not an expert and only mentioning what I have observed on other cars. My 72 has the shorter canister and the mount for it is on the lower right rear inner fender apron.

eBay has a replacement for around $100. It includes the canister and mounting bracket. The charcoal would need to be replaced with activated charcoal. Using a pair of slip joint pliers, it can be done. It is tedious with medium difficulty. I did it for mine and repainted it.
