Got the correct keepers for the valves from comp cams today. Starting to assemble heads, but valve stem seals don't lock.. ride with the stems. Is this correct? Old one had spring locks, these are just dome seals.

The original seals are the "umbrella" type that ride on the valves. You likely had aftermarket seals that crimped to the valve guide. The crimped on seals are much better but the umbrella seals can do the job.

Thanks, for the info. The umbrella seals came withthe cam and are the same type in my overhaul gasket set
