Does anyone have any experience with Henry Rifles?

I saw the founder on a late night TV show and they looked really cool. They have a nice selection, including special editions and youth rifles. I'd like to get my son one of the youth rifles for his birthday that is coming up, maybe this one:

I thought this one was really interesting, the whole thing folds and stores in the butt of the weapon:

I'd like to hear some opinions, I don't have much experience with non-military rifles. Thanks...

My dad has 2 and they are great, beautiful guns. Well made. I believe one is a .17 caliber and one is a 44. I think one is a limited edition called the golden boy.

I have shot plenty of Henry's..I'll take there action any day over the rest...I have shot plenty of Winchester and Marlin lever actions and a few Uberti cowboy reissues..and nothing in my book is as smooth as a Henry...My brother got his son a nice little 22 long rifle just this spring..Nice big buck horn sites...Smooth as silk..And he did not have any issues runing it...Unlike some lever actions that make you want to run the lever fast or it jams...No inbetween..lol.....Not too much of this going on in the Herny action....I been looking at getting there 44 mag version for packing.

You could not make a better choice for a starter lever action for your son.

I had a Henry 22 lever , the thing cycled like a hot knife through butter , I mean smooooth . Always wanted the big boy in 44 mag but for the price I like my Marlins + Winchesters . I friend had the survival 22 , imho. very cheaply made , his started turning itself into a full auto on it's own , no kidding pull the trigger and it would fire a burst of three or four , kinda scary . You can't beat the levers though !

Thanks to all for the great responses. Looks like my son will be getting a Henry bolt or lever action.
