How can you tell a male fly from a female fly?

A woman comes home and finds her husband stalking around the kitchen with a fly swatter.

"What are you doing?" she asks.

"Hunting flies" he replies.

"Killed any?" she questions.

"3 males and 2 females" the husband replies.

Puzzled the wife asks, "how can you tell which ones and males and which ones are females?"

"Easy," the husband replies. "3 were on the beer can and 2 were on the phone"
