How is the retained

Ok, pic attached is of the climate control panel. There is a cable that attaches to change from panel to defrost and I would like to know what retains/holds it on. I don’t have pics from removing the dash but as many bolts and screws that were missing, it probably wasn’t connected before. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

The cable sheath screws to the bracket on the back of the control unit, the cable slips over the control arm with a push on retainer.

Thank you Hemikiller, I really appreciate the pic and solution. I will look around to see if I or the local parts stores have any of the push on retainers.

Do you know where you can buy the push-on retainer?

Most local hardware and home centers, ie Home Depot, Lowes or Menards have hardware sections that have this type of specialty items.
