The Name is Chris, located close to Frankfurt/Germany, and looking at a 73 Mach 1 since two weeks. Being new to Mustang, but not to US muscle cars in general, I am still on a fact and tips & hints gathering trip through the web.

Welcome from Phoenix Arizona! Are you limiting yourself to just the 73? There isn't much difference between the three years other than some cosmetic changes.

Also, since you are new to this, the 71/73 mustangs had different body codes for 'fastback' and 'Mach 1'. They look the same but sometimes someone will take a 'fastback' and try to sell it as a 'Mach 1'. A 'Mach 1' won't be worth a lot more than a 'fastback' but do a search and learn the difference.

To reply to a couple of comments made:

I "stumbled" across the 73, so it's not a conscious choice, but if all works out I am certain a good one.

I do have some experience, so VINs, trim tags etc. are well know. I have already discovered and obtained the Marti Report, too.

What I really need is eyes on the ground - anyone from New Mexico around here? 'Cause that's where the car is located and I am in Germany...
