Welcome from Germany!

And thank you for sharing your story. If someone have this car this community here will be the right spot to find it out. There is no greater community for the 71-73 Mustangs on earth than here. So good luck with your search, keep a Marti Report from Kevin Marti in mind, well spent dollars. From there we could all look further.

My prayers are with you, hold on and stay strong!

Take care!

Hello!

Thank you for your message, I really do appreciate it. I will consider buying a Marti Report. I left a voicemail with that company, asking about the VIN I have. Someone suggested that if they had already sold a report for that VIN, perhaps they would tell me, and if so, maybe they would contact that person with my contact information. I'm waiting to hear back from them to see. I didn't see a way to contact the company online, only through phone or fax.

I am staying pretty strong, I think, as I have my complete faith in Jesus. He has brought me a very long way from "90 days to live" to complete remission in about 8 months. If you're curious about the protocol I use to treat cancer, I'd be happy to share it with you. I firmly believe that the Lord used it to help me heal. Certainly, not a moment passes when I don't remember that I am not considered to be "cured" but I have been graciously given a reprieve and for that, I am grateful.

I pray that someone on this forum can, indeed, help me locate this green Mustang. It would mean the world to us. We humans are a sentimental lot, aren't we? But it's part of what makes us human I suppose. These little things that keep us motivated and moving forward.

Hugs to you,
Allison

I am just beginning to delve into all of this and I so appreciate the information. I don’t know anything about cars lol but I’m all in now! If we find this car, I’m seriously thinking about finding Jimmy Hoffa or Amelia Earhart next. 😂

Hello and a warm welcome from SW Ontario, Canada.
That is an incredible story which I hope has a happy ending......... soon.
I can only add one suggestion which is, is there a way you can access the Virginia DMV?
I did that when I bought my car in California. I contacted the CA DMV through their website, filled out a form and submitted it. I received a list of all previous owners which included my own name. Granted in this case, the car obviously was still on the road.
Now, in your case, you don't know the car still exists, but it might be a start. If you can explain the reason, they might be co-operative. Worth a try.

How long ago was this ? Because of privacy laws it’s my understanding DMV can no longer do this

Thank you so much for your reply! I have not personally tried this, no, because a friend of mine, a retired PI, told me the DMV would not or could not do this. I’m sure there have been exceptions here and there, but those records are private. That’s why I was hesitant about posting the VIN initially, because the records are private.

14 years. but then I was enquiring about a vehicle I owned. I only got names, no addresses.
In this case, I would only be trying to find out if the car was still registered, i.e. is it alive or dead. It was just a thought.

I heard that if I were to write a letter to Arkansas DMV they may give me a history. I got the letter ready to mail off but as of now I haven’t done it. I explained I’m not looking for names and addresses just dates of transfers. Because I was told the car never left Arkansas I thought I may have a chance to find out how many owners my car had before me.

It's worth a shot. The worst that can happen is no reply.
I forgot to add I got the dates as well as the names. Some "detective work" got me in contact to all but one of the PO's. I ended up with an almost complete history. Unfortunately, the original owner had passed away.

Hi Allison,
I checked at https://www.nicb.org/vincheck and there are no reports of it being stolen or in salvage records. This U.S. Department of Justice web site at The National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) has links to other vin search sites they approve of, but some charge a fee.

What happened with the Marty Report?

Hi! Thank you so much for this!! I’ll head on over there right now. I called and left a message with the Marty Report folks, but I haven’t heard back yet. There was no way to contact them other than phone. I will definitely purchase a report, though.

UPDATE on the original information in my post:

The 1973 Mach 1 Mustang that I'm searching for was purchased by him in August (we think) 1977. He purchased the car in Mt. Airy, NC in 1977. He sold the car in either 1986 or 1987 in Virginia Beach, VA.

Your brother bought the car in Mayberry? Did he buy it from Andy or Barney?

Just couldn’t help yourself, could you? 😂
Yes, we grew up in the real life, forever immortalized Mayberry. There’s still a Snappy Lunch there on Main Street.

That is pretty cool, I have a customer in Mt Airy and when we speak on the phone he often says he's calling from Mayberry, LOL.
