Our 72 restomod is coming along nicely. So far we have shortened the front by 7". Modified the front grille and headlamps to allow modern HID. New wrap around custom front and rear bumpers. Shelby rear end modification. front hood scoops molded into the hood. removed all dated chrome. Next few months will see the new triangulated rear end with Eaton 9" True Trac and 10" shortened rear axle. New Full Tilt front suspension with coil overs, electronic rack and pinion steering and 6 piston wildwood disc brakes all around. Pirelli P375P25ZR21 tires in the back under the fenders with 30" of rubber grabbing the road. Coyote 5.0 with Eaton TVS2800 supercharger producing 720+ HP and new 5 speed legends tranny.

Wow, I love the front, especially the rounded corners on the fenders and the hood. The twin headlight design looks good too. It looks like it belongs.

I don't see AMC Matador resemblence at all.

It does however look like a Mopar. A 2013 Dodge Challenger is a Mopar and that's the headlights and fogs we used..

I was thinking 72 Matador not a 75. Sorry it was just the first thing that popped in my head. Awesome build.

With the new Mustang II front suspension being manufactured and planned for Mid Feb delivery, its time to get the frame ready to accept it. First thing is to cut the shock towers out.

The plasma cutter makes fast work of this.

This allows about 12" of additional width for the Coyote motor.

Next I'll be putting in temporary braces to prevent frame movement and cutting out the stock cross members. The frame rails themselves will be cut out and replaced with 10 gauge box steel. Ill be doing this in two stages to prevent movement and distortion. Pics of that in a future installment.
