Hey guys,

Last weekend I bought a drip plate for underneath my car. That way I can see how much oil it actually leaks. So today i pulled it from underneath and I was a bit shocked to see how much tranny oil it leaked (engine hasn't been running this week):

Is this a dangerous ammount or can I drive it while topping up regularly?

Thanks,

Vincent.

I'm guessing it's the same as my C6, from the location on the drip pan, which is the shift selector shaft. A common problem with C6s, not easy to fix with the transmission in the car, but I have done it. I had to modify an end wrench to get the inside nut off. I decided to let this one leak until I get around to replacing it with an AODE.

As long as you keep it full, and carry an extra quart or two, you should be OK. The downside is the oil all over the underside, but think of it as rust prevention.

Hahaha, OK, rust prevention it is. It's a C6, yes. I don't drive it much and also no long distances so I guess I'll be alright and get me some extra ATF.

Thanks.
