Hi All ! One of my center caps became loose where the metal round pronged tension bracket thing on the inside became separated from the cap itself

I am having a hard time getting it to stay back on properly, I tried soldering but it wouldn't stick, I tried JB Weld and it cracked while trying to snap onto the wheel, also tried super glue same thing again, so if anybody has any previous experience or ideas, would love to hear them

As you can see in the picture on the one on the right even with all that JB weld did not stay attached, the one on the left appears to have tiny screws holding the tension mounting bracket in place ? Maybe I have to use a piece of wood or rubber mallet to pound it evenly in place or bend the prongs in a bit to make it easier ?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply and tip, you convinced me soldering is the way to go, I did a quick clean with isopropyl and did not do the proper procedure as you described, so I'll do that next, thanks again for taking the time

JB Weld works if you lift out the locking ring and apply the JB Weld on the underside of the ring. Starting with a clean surface also helps.

Thanks for the tip, the ring hasn't become completely detached so it is hard to get underneath between the surfaces to clean and apply the JB weld there, so if I have to remove it first, then that is what I'll have to do

....the problem is when I go to snap the cap back onto the wheel, that is when it breaks again, next time I'll try a rubber mallet or block of wood to try to ease it in instead of smacking it with the palm of my hand
