Mail Cash

My mechanic tells me it is illegal to mail cash.

It is illegal to send someone cash through the

mail. Is this true?

I send cash all the time. I don't know of any law against it. I only send it to places where there isn't much chance of it getting "lost".

acording too snoops..You can insure money threw the mail..But only up too the value on the bill http://www.snopes.com/legal/postal/sendcash.asp

And i wont send any cash threw the mail anymore...i usualy had no trouble sending money in a card or something...but when my girl needed to buy some presents...I snuck 100 bucks into a letter...and made sure it was wrapped up good...That was the only package i ever sent that never showed up...lol..We had to borrow money from her parents..bleh...lol.. post office said it never got the letter...one i sent it from showed it sent just fine..some one sniped it in between..Damn grinch that stole xmas!! lol

Guys,

I have sent small amounts of cash in the mail recently for shipping refunds, inexpensive parts, etc through the mail and had fifty fifty results. It seems that the envelopes arrive and are mysteriously empty. Maybe it is a form of added bonus plan for some dishonest postal employees, Hmmm.
