Hey guys, some updates from the current restoration. Over the last few days, I have installed and connected the overhauled air conditioning system. I also had to move the distributor because the previous owner had positioned the vacuum above the compressor plate, and it didn't have enough space. I hope to be able to fill it with 134a soon. However, some of the parts in the interior are still missing before I can put it into operation. I'm also waiting for another package of parts so that I can put the gearshift back into operation and start the engine.

Today I glued the insulation and am quite satisfied. Tomorrow I can start with the carpet in the interior.

Here is a little news from my vacation. I treated the seats with special plastic and vinyl shampoo and then cleaned them down to the pores with a steam cleaner. I'm not quite sure whether the stripes were gray or white, but I'm very satisfied with the result for 50-year-old seats and the result before and after. The rear seat is even better, it really looks like new now. Before installation, all the seats are given a final treatment with vinyl treatment and protective film.

Results of the last two days.

I installed the new alternator. (Not original, but 70 amps like the original alternator.)

Then I cleaned and polished the entire rear seat, including the trim and carpet, and recolored the side trim.

I am delighted with the result. I think it will look fantastic again in the finished interior.

The trapdoor also appears in new splendor, and I was even able to save most of the original carpet parts by cleaning and recoloring them. It's great to bring, so many original parts back to life.

Next, the dashboard and the center console will be installed together with the carpet. However, I will have to wait a few more days for more parts to arrive from the States.

Unfortunately, this always takes forever because I need the repro screws for the interior trim.

They were no longer original and looked very unattractive.
