Hi, I'm looking for the parts or entire short harness for my glove box light on my 73. I'm guessing the 71-73 are pretty much the same. It would consist of the glove box switch and lamp with the lead to plug into a always hot power supply like my convertible top bullet connector.

Thanks for trying to help!

Scott

The ones I have seen were part of the main harness when you got certain option groups. Usually with map light and under dash lights

It was not an add on section for just the glove box light.

You could easily make one using a 65 - 6 switch and any bulb socket.

Don,

Making one was just what I was thinking. Are the diameter of the 65-66 switches the same size as the hole for the 71-73? As far as the bulb holder goes does it use the same type of bulb holder as the panel lights for the cig lighter, wiper, and lights? It would have two wires attached to the bulb holder one hot, one for ground and the hot one would run through the switch to the hot source.

Using a 65-6 switch with a built in bulb wouldn't necessarily work would it since I believe the location for the bulb on the 7173 is located above the glove box. I think?!?

It is an odd type bulb holder

Switch is a 1 wire , makes ground.

As it is not really seen you can mount any 2 wire socket in the metal plate above the glove box.

Hot / fused wire goes to one side of the socket. Other side of socket would go to the switch.

I'll look and see if I have any parts harnesses, might be a few days before I have time to go thru them - at one point harnesses were pulled and bagged / boxed but not marked by a kid I had working for me.

So these is 20 - 30 or more to go thru.
