My Car
Brother's 1971 Mustang Coupe
Hi,

Figured I'd come in here and introduce myself. My name is Douglas and I live in the Seattle area. I personally don't own a Mustang, as you might guess by my username I am a GM F-Body fan (diehard really). However, my little brother has a 1971 Mustang coupe that is his first car, which he has owned for nearly 2 years now. I am basically the family mechanic as cars are my true passion (I work in Information Systems).

My Christmas present to my brother was to do the a MustangSteve "GT" brake swap. What lead me to this forum was a Google search seeing if anyone had found appropriate length brake hoses as I was struggling with that part.

Swap is now done and I decided to register here as my Dad and I plan on doing some things to his car for his graduate present and I am hoping the knowledge on here will save me some more headaches.

Thanks,

Douglas

Welcome! We will still take you even though you're a GM fan. However, be warned that if you hang out on here we may convert you from the dark side.

In all seriousness feel free to ask any questions you may have and jump into the discussions.

Welcome from West Texas!

I loves me some Firebirds & T/As. One of my pals has an awesome '78 Black & Gold T-Top (still all stock, too - although restored).

If only I could've fit into a '67 (no leg room for 6'5"), my life might be a bit different right now. I could definitely see myself in an '82-'89 T/A or Formula someday, though. Gonna have a hard time selling that plan to the wife, though, since it won't involve getting rid of my Mustang OR my Jeep. rofl

Thanks for the welcome!

I will try to get some pics of the car, I don't have any personally.

Welcome Douglas, from Brisbane, Australia.

Brisbane, cool! I was able to spend 3 weeks in Brisbane for work 2 years ago and loved it. First weekend I went over to Suncorp and watched a Brisbane Roar game and have followed the team and been active on their web forum ever since. Second weekend I went over to the Gold Coast 500, or as everyone seemed to call it "Indy". They had a car show there which was one of the highlights of the weekend for me. Greatly enjoyed both the cars and the people.

Hey Douglas,

Welcome to not only a great site but probably the most open minded Ford themed forum around. We like anything with wheels at our house but that rubs a lot people the wrong way on some other forums. This place has been been gracious to people like us. Once you spend some time with a Mustang you may enjoy some of what the Oval has to offer.

A couple of F-bodies say "HEY" to yours.

Welcome from Indiana! Looking forward to your ford adventure and welcome hearing about your F-body cars too! Now that I'm older I've been thinking about getting an old F-body... it's inevitable when you start slowing down, like getting a walker or a cane.

Welcome from southeast lower Michigan. Had a 67 Chevelle SS 396 for 29 years. Loved that car. I never had a Ford muscle car, so last spring I got my Mach 1 & love it! Good luck to you & your brother on the project.
