'73 convertible last of a lost breed
Hello, my name is Joe, I finally signed up on the forum, i thought it might help if i had any questions. About my mustang, I bought around 1987, it was my daily driver. Around 1998, had my engine rebuilt my Mike Gantz a track racing guy. He left the 2v head on for more torque but put edelbrock performer manifold on it with carter carb. Since than i put a 600 cfm edelbrock carb. Put 3:55 gears in 9" rearend, need a fourth or fifth gear LOL. Had it repainted and custom interior done early 2000. Top is 15 years new LOL, hasn't seen rain EVER and sun on a few occasions. Its a felt top with original glass window with zipper to open. My wife would like me to sell it, i would like to put a Total Control Products g-link coil over front & rear suspension, convert my auto to clutch and put 5-speed tremec trans. Rebuilt motor with 0.30" bore, 3.75" stroke with TFS 195 aluminum heads and Edelbrock air gap manifold. That's all i want to do. LOL But I'm a backyard mechanic in a condo with no space. I'm in south Orange County, semi retired, if anyway likes to do projects i would enjoy working together on this.
Take care, Joe

Welcome Joe from another So Cal resident, a bit north of you in Upland. I also have a 73 Vert, but my car is at my place in Az. You car looks great.

My wife and I are planning a move this year I believe to south Orange County, to Laguna Woods; the Ca condo life for us too. Maybe when we get moved, we can meet up. BTW, if you’re asking if we agree with your wife’s or your plan, it’s no contest. Steve

Howdy from Phoenix and a fellow 73 convertible owner! That's a very handsome car and I love the engine compartment, very clean. (Although I am not a fan of HEI's on a Cleveland but I do have one on my AMC 401 in my Jeep).

Welcome, Joe, and howdy from Texas! Nice looking convertible that you've obviously taken good care of over the years. See ya 'round the forums!
Thanks Chuck, I love the looks of your Mustang. Would love to see more pictures. I see the BOSS 351 logo, would love to hear what youve done with your Mustang.

Welcome to the forum Joe!
I do have a potential solution to your "Wife wants to sell it, I want to modify ($$$) it more" delema. Let us forum members vote on what you should do...then just blame us for you getting all your new parts. It was all our fault, you had nothing to do with it! ;)

Hey Steve, thanks for the welcome. Our best friends live in Upland, off Benson & Mountain. I like Laguna Woods LOL, but i like to golf so i would probably be there all the time. Plus you can do other activities there. We have a place in Arizona as well, but we are in the boonies, 70 miles north of Kingman, a little town called Meadview. I see you have a place in Fort Mohave, we drive by it all the time. Would love to see photos of your Mustang. Ever down south reach out

Your motor description sounds beefy, first how did you get that into your reply area? Did you build it yourself? Any photos of your engine compartment and car, would love to see. I'm a backyard mechanic (out of necessity) whose built a motor with the help of a neighbor when i was a kid. Some much i want to do but money and fear of not getting it back together correctly, want that second person to help confirm doing things right.

Welcome from Chicago! Good looking vert! Great color combo!
Thanks. I've been thinking of going back to original-ish color.
