Apparently, any tire OVER 10 years old becomes a liability as the rubber starts to become hard and crack. At least according to the manufactures who want to sell new tires.

Neat for show, but like a condom I wouldn't trust rubber that old.

That brings up another issue. My current tires are seven years old but still

have a good 1/8 inch or more tread left. Should I replace them?

Seven years you should be ok but always a good idea to check from cracks or signs of rot. Especially on the inner portion of the tire.

Nope. Won't drive down the block with those things. If you really want that look, see what Corker Tires (or one of the other tire makers that sale that vintage look) to give you that look you want and still be able to use the car.
