Today, I drove 100 miles to Tallahassee FL to check out their PickNPull yard. Not a lot of old stuff there, but I did find a 1970 Mercury Marquis. The body was covered in moss, so the car had obviously been sitting outside quite a long time. The engine had already been taken out, but I harvested a bucketful of wiring connectors. Taking apart the dash was quite interesting: I had to remove the dash pad, door sills and kick panels to get at some screws. Whew!
That car had almost every doo-dad and gadget imaginable: intermittent wipers, cruise control, AC, tilt steering, etc. But OMG, it had a big body.
And despite it being overgrown and large, I could actually see out of the back window unlike some 71-73 flatbacks...
