I need to get a new Pitman Arm for the 73 with Power Steering. Who has purchased a new one that fit properly and from where?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason

I found it. Looks like it is part number 20148
West Coast Cougar...

I usually buy from NPD as they're close and parts are usually good.

I purchased #3590-5  P/S Pitman Arm. Made in the US and has a grease nipple for 98 bucks.

The other end is the Idler Arm. often forgotten, but in need of replacement. Part # 3355-1 Pro grade is what I got. Good part with grease nipples both ends, BUT the top hole is too small and MUST BE SLOTTED upward. This part has this memo with the instructions. Why don't they just fix it?? !!! That part was no issue to me and apart from that, it works very well. There was considerable discussion on the forum not too long ago about Idler Arms and their geometry.

Thanks for the info guys. I already have the new idler arm. Got a moog problem solver and when compared to my original it matches exact. I ended up ordering the rare parts pitman arm. I found some reviews on it that were good and also called them to ask a few questions. They told me to try Autozone of all places. Sure enough I ordered it from them as they had the best price I could find plus they had a promo for 20% off plus an$20 gift card and free shipping so I have a total of $70 bucks in it.

Awesome deal!! Glad you got a good part at a great price.

The one that NPD sells is the Rare Parts one.  If you look close in the photo you will see "diamond" screen printed on it.  That is the Rare Parts marking.
Quite correct. A good part imo. NOT cheap though.

I do have a question though, why dose NO-ONE make a rubber grease seal like the original for going between the pitman arm and drag link? All the ones I have seen are supplied with a felt washer thingy. Perhaps it's a case of "it'll do" rather than "do it right".
