I have one that I pulled from my 1973 302. For reasons unknown the line was leaking even though everything was tight with no splitting/cracks in the tube or ends. Finally getting around to changing out the power steering pump. See pic. What purpose does this bracket attached to back of pump serve? There was nothing hooked to it prior to removal. Have to wait until tomorrow to finish. Need to borrow the pulley puller from the parts store.
Yes, I have seen several late 73's with the 3 spoke cast pulleyI pulled the Power Steering pump from my 73 H code Convertible with A/C and Tilt Steering. Built in June 73. The pulley on the car is a 3 spoke casting and not the common solid steel disc. I have never seen a 3 spoke pulley on any other Mustang. The part number and date code on the pump I pulled from my car is correct. Both pulleys have the same offset, belt groove, and diameter so they appear to be interchangeable. I am wondering if the pulley itself or the pump was replaced at some point in its past.
Has anybody else have or seen a 3 spoke pulley on 73 mustangs? I have both types of pulleys and want to used the correct one. I appreciate any insight. Thanks

Never figured out if there was a Ford change, but they have all been late 73's when I find that pulley.
Don, if you have any of those pulley's that are easily accessible could you please get an engineering number for me? Not something that has to be done right away, but would like to document the ID #s. Especially on parts we find on these cars that are different from what we normally see or is cataloged for them. The pulley reminds me of some I've seen on some F series trucks.
