Hi Guys,

The power windows in my 71 grande 429 have suddenly stopped operating. (Not the fuse)

There is a bank of five switches on the drivers door.

I jury wired the drivers front & the motor is fine. The drivers switch shows power to the multi-meter (up & down)

I have workshop manuals but there is no reference to 71 Mustang.

Can any member help with any ideas.

There's a circuit breaker by the solenoid and voltage regulator that provides power to the "Window Safety Relay", which is behind the driver's side shock tower. The switching power for the relay comes from the fuse panel and is powered when the key is on. The relay then provides power to the window switches.

You can get a copy of the wiring diagrams in the "Mustang Data" tab at the top of the page.

Thank you Don C, manually working the relay make the windows operate.

It looks fine but the winding's must have broken internally, now to find a replacement.

Cheers
