Hello,

I've got my 73 vert's heater box (w/ac) taken apart and am now reassembling it. Funny thing, my heater blower wasn't working very well at low speeds and made a ticking sound. After taking the whole thing apart I found a #2 pencil making slight contact with the fan which explained a lot.

Since I have the blower motor out I thought I'd lubricate the bearings before putting it back in. I'm not an electric motor kinda guy so not quite sure how to do this or what type of oil I should be using.

Any advice?

TGIF!

Scott

I'm pretty sure they are sealed bearings so don't try to clean or lube with a spray that may wash the grease out from behind the shields. If it rotates freely, put it back. If it feels rough while turning, replace the bearings. You'll only need a puller that goes down to about an inch. and a lot of pics while you take it apart. Really not that bad though.
