Funny, you can't even tell whether or not it's a fastback. The missing vinyl makes it more likely to be a Grande although I know there were some fastbacks that had them.

Funky! Looks to be some serious body modifications with 69 Mach 1 rear quarters grafted on, strange rear Mopar type spoiler, lower body moldings....etc.

Bet the owner thinks it was some kind of factory prototype.

Hmmmm. At first I thought it might be a GT-351 Mexican Mustang. Don't think so now.

"Serious inquiries only". At least he didn't say "no low-ballers"!!!

That funky spoiler makes its way onto many a Mustang. We had a related thread discussion and I believe it was off a Pontiac Fiero. It was a while ago! :)

Not '69 quarters... accent scoops from J.C. Whitney. :shootself:

It's a sportsroof - you can tell by the taller trunk lid, and just barely make out the rear glass through the 1992 Camaro wanna-be rear wing.

I'm definitely not seeing anything close to the asking price. If it even runs, I'd start bidding around $2000... providing there weren't any better deals around, that is. :chin:

As strange as it is those scoops actually line up with the body lines decent. It could still be saved with A LOT of love and cash. I think $2k might be a little high though. If it runs and drives knock a zero off the end of his price.

I actually paid $1600 for mine, non-running and a rusty pile but otherwise complete and numbers matching (yeah... FWIW), which on a level I instantly regretted... and I'm over it. But that came at great cost (time, money, patience, etc.), which can for the most part be alleviated by starting with a better base.

The "no title" part is the clincher... as in 'my backside just clinched up even tighter.' ;) Mine was also a no-title car, and I'm here to say that it isn't all THAT difficult to get a no-title car squared away... in Texas. Other states though, I have no idea. The pain and suffering for having to go through the 'no title' process on top of all the rust abatement/replacement and otherwise un-@ss the car back to something more normal (no such thing as a '73 GT, after all), is what drives the price down... that, and it's just not a particularly rare or highly-valued edition. "Condition" is key, and this one's pretty much a turd.

I think that thar weed is a bit skunky down south! I see way too many people having an over-inflated value on their cars, just because they're Mustangs. Is it a Cleveland or a Windsor? If it runs ok, then maybe a $2-$5k range. And for God's sake , put your bong aside, and clean your car before posting pictures of it for sale! Especially when you're asking that much.

Sorry to bust your collective bubbles, but the USA is not the whole world and there was in fact a GT 351 Mustang made in Mexico, though it is only in the coupe body styles as IIRC the fastback was not legal in Mexico during those years.

I suspect bringing a Mexican Mustang up to the USA is manageable these days, but I'm sure it has a few quirks. Might be why he doesn't have a title.

It might also make his price realistic . . . if it is in Pesos :poke:

I think you know I know that... ::thumb:: :D

There are quite a few GT-351 Windsor powered Mexican Mustangs here in the USA. Some really unique 73 Mexican Mach 1's with crazy different rear 1/4 panel stickers. Lots of posts/threads about them (Mexican Mustangs) on here. Even a few Shelby de Mexico offerings...

Missed your prior post, I just came back and looked at page 2 of the thread the 2nd time-

I actually really like the paint scheme of the Mexican Mach 1's- just not the stupid big stickers. Years ago I was trying to identify the paint scheme from an old memory and posted a thread here about the Mexican Mustangs.

Shelby de Mexico talk is moot, since there were none for 1973... and I don't believe there were any fastbacks, either. :chin:

The guy also says in his CL title "Rare 1973 fastback gt," so that pretty much should be settled. ;)

Face it - there's nothing rare about this car... except in the wacky smoke-filled eye of the owner... aside from the 'so rare it'll never be seen again' title for the car, that is. :whistling:

OK - ya got me there... but, we weren't talking about Mexican Sprints. ;)

What year is that, though? It looks '71-'72 (probably '72, going along with "Sprint" tradition), based on the front valance/bumper junction and the rear bumper... even with the '73 Mach 1 trunk decal.

I'd sure love to have a set of those giant Mach 1 decals. ::thumb::
