Aparently it doesn't weigh that for very long. That 17 is sick & I'm not a Glock fanboy.Man that mag is sweet. Probably feels pretty weird as far as weight goes.
Me either...I addmit they are tuff and reliable thouAparently it doesn't weigh that for very long. That 17 is sick & I'm not a Glock fanboy.Man that mag is sweet. Probably feels pretty weird as far as weight goes.
Not as tuff as my HK P30. I'm a huge 1911 fan but my Hk is one tough handgun. Try shooting 92,000 rounds through a Glock with minimal cleanings. They are done at 10k rounds or so. HK commissioned a longevity test and kept extending the test by supplying more bullets since the gun wouldn't quit. The HK finally started malfunctioning much to everyone's amazement. Hence my primary carry gun is now the P30. But I still love that .45 push action and carry the '11 a good amount. Now you've got me wanting to hit the range this weekend...ok, done deal - Saturday morning it is.Me either...I addmit they are tuff and reliable thou.Aparently it doesn't weigh that for very long. This is one of my big auto pistols...I did a little review on it..Sence they are so rare..lol....What a old monster she is...bit more push that a 44 mag.
Nice wheel gun too. The only nice wheel gun I have is an old .41 long Colt from the 1890s. I still shoot it on occasion but the ammo is hard to find and is about $3 bucks a round.HK'S are nice..my freind has one..but he is a big 1911 fan...lol...I like them all..But glock is the last pistol i would want thou.......lol...They dont feel right in my hand...If some one gave me the choice between my walther p-38 and a glock..Ill take my old walther...feels good in my hands...I told people i would take a springfield xd even over it...When wanting bigger ...ill go for my old wheel gun 357's mags....Then 45's..And so on...lol...there is not a gun i dont like...lol I got a few 357's...colt python and some old smiths....I picked this one up for 250 bucks..lol..And come to find out its a old 1966 pc..."plain clothes" magna...And bring alot more than that i guess on the market...this was the first time i took it out...Was windy that shooting day..But it wasn too bad of a machine. tring to work the double action for the first time..pulled a few shots...lol..Its smooth..But nice even close as smooth as my colt..lol
Cool gun..Those old colts look alot like that smith pc magna ...Well i guess the army version does...And i bet rounds are getting spendy for them...Like buying rounds for my 45 win mag..Got to special order themNice wheel gun too. Never have fired a P38 but i think I'd like it....lol...I allmost picked up a reproduction schofield in 44-40...Only reason i didnt was cause the rounds so damn hard to find...I got enough guns the rounds are hard or impossible to find..Like y 30-40 kraig..Like pulling teeth finding rounds for it..lol
Btw I think the p38..Specialy the cold war version are a good auto for the buck..You can pick one up for around 350ish...Mine is a 1960's model...Depedable..And i think a little more interesting than your average carry...lol
When I say ammo is hard to find I mean it is special order only as well. I have a box of 50 that's down to about 40 rounds now. I don't plan to buy any more of those in my lifetime...I have many more other things I can shoot. That is a very special occasion only range trip...like when I told my 12 year old that it is "his" gun and let him fire it a couple of times. Both of us were very proud that day.Cool gun..Those old colts look alot like that smith pc magna ...Well i guess the army version does...And i bet rounds are getting spendy for them...Like buying rounds for my 45 win mag..Got to special order them...lol...I allmost picked up a reproduction schofield in 44-40...Only reason i didnt was cause the rounds so damn hard to find...I got enough guns the rounds are hard or impossible to find..Like y 30-40 kraig..Like pulling teeth finding rounds for it..lol

Glocks have all the ergonomics of a 2x4. I'm not a fan. They dont feel right in my hand...
I believe that a 2x4 was used to create the original mold from which all the guns are made. :shrug2: What were they thinking???Glocks have all the ergonomics of a 2x4. I'm not a fan. They dont feel right in my hand...
Hehe...Isnt that how it goes? I remmeber my grampa telling some guns would some day be mine that we would take out together as a kiddy...Same with my dad..I sure held them too it too...lol..I got a old 1917 bolt action single shot 22 with a super long barrel...lol...my grampa told me picked cotten down south till his hands where bleeding to get it as a teen...lol..Its such a old 22..You have to pull back the firing pin your self to get it ready to fire...Ill have to take a picture of the old girl...I still take it out when i wanna sharp shoot..Up too 200 yards it will shoot the eye out of a lizard...lol..When I say ammo is hard to find I mean it is special order only as well. I may have to pick up a P38. I like the look and the history of it.
I owned a p38 and a luger long barrel refurbished....I traded the luger for a nice ww2 m1 garand and a colt ar 15...I like to wheel an deal them sometimes...lol...Luger a bit hard to clean and take care of...the p38 is just about as easy as it comes...To take apart...Its fast...Its well balanced...Its the worlds first double action semi auto pistol...Its the first semi auto pistol with a decock that works too....So you can load a round...and all you have to do is pull the safety off..and pull the trigger..lol..With out it being a safety issue...Its a great very safe gun to carry...Some p-1 and 2 versions...{same gun}....Got aluminuim frames...So they are light...And tuff as hell...I seen plenty of reviews and they say a big improvent over the milled frames...Mine is a war police version with a aluminum frame.. any walther marked " p-38 " means police or military Walthers marked p-2 or 1 are civillian models...Police and all mil one after the 50's have forged top ends and aluminum frames...ww2 version will have all metal...Bit heavier and cost alot more..but as a shooter goes they are apples and oranges..you can pick up a p-1 i seen for as less as 250 bucks on gunbroker.com....ones like mine marked p-38 sell in about the 400 range..500 most...ww2 ones in good shape...800 to 3000..Counts markings and condish...lol
Btw...I would own a 41 colt my self if i ran across a good enough deal...Cool old wheel gun
