A top ten finish is something you both should be proud of

Thank you everyone, Ttom, Luke, and 71Machlady!!! She was still dealing with it last night. As you guys stated top 10 is something to be very proud of. I told her to look around with the 100's of kids to compete against...only 9 could beat you! We had a nice talk last night and I explained that some kids just have natural talent and an aggressive drive to WIN! She does not have that drive, she's worked hard to reach her level an accomplishment far exceeding natural ability something to be very proud of. Only this year has she shown a desire to win. So we'll support her and she has a good understanding she will not be selected for a D1 top school but there are many D2's that she already qualifies for and she can enjoy a collegiate career. You should see the team surround her and support her though... it was VERY impressive. oh and the girls team hasnt won Region in over 5 years!
