Trying to do a lock rod adjustment for the transmission, reading the 72 shop manual, it says to align the "steering column alignment mark" with the hole in the steering column cover and insert a #15 drill, then torque the retaining bolt....Does this sound familiar to anyone? and what does the alignment mark look like? is it a hole or a ridge...I cant see anything in there...

Any help appreciated

That would be a 15/64" drill bit or use a 1/4" to stick thru the alignment holes (neutral)

Loosen the retaining nut on the lock rod, then put the drill bit in the alignment hole, then tighten the lock nut.
